End of Pier Water Temperature
Six temperature sensors are used to monitor the water temperature at the end of the FRF pier.
These sensors are at nominal depths of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7m and provide near continuous
measurements of the temperature profile. Ocasionally sensors fail and fewer sensors
are used to determine the profile. Linear interpolation/extrapolation is used to estimate
temperatures between 0 and 7m depth at 0.1 m intervals, creating a smoother appearing plot.
These sensors are built from inexpensive IC chips (National Semiconductor LM35) and a
description of the circuits will added to this web page in the future.
